Reasons Why:

Reasons Why I Will Probably Never Host Thanksgiving:

1. I don't really care for turkey.

2. I DEFINITELY don't care to go elbow deep in a turkey's butt.

3. I don't like pie. In fact, I often make Thanksgiving brownies.

4. Big Yankee works on Thanksgiving & I prefer not to do ALL the work or host by my lonesome.

5. Our families are either unable or unwilling to travel to see us for Thanksgiving.

6. Our table leaf, a dining room chair, all of our wedding china and most of our kitchen/cooking stuff is in a storage unit 1231 miles away.

7. I don't know how to make gravy. I am actually quite offended when people taint my delicious loaded crockpot mashed taters with a pool of brown ooze.

Do you host Thanksgiving? If you don't host, what are are some of the reasons?

Oh, I'd love some Thanksgiving brownies.

We're hosting every year, as Thanksgiving is not a German holiday and we see the need to introduce them one by one :-) Please, please share your recipe for the crock pot taters, I wanted to do the mashed potatoes in the crockpot, too, this year!

Well. I already told me MIL that next year it's mine. I've done it once. I figure they are getting older so it's my time. And I agree. I've made mashed potatoes in the crockpot and they are yummy.

More reasons I can't host Thanksgiving: I don't have a gravy boat or proper tablecloths.

We hosted this year. All of us love turkey and gravy and mashed potatoes. Plus, there are only four of us so hosting dinner isn't a big deal or a colossal nightmare. The worst we have to deal with is my mother-in-law's incessant yapping. LOL
