Sixty Days

The countdown has begun.

We have 8 or 9 weeks left to live here.

About 60 days.

1440 hours.

86,400 minutes.

Just thinking about it brings an enormous lump into my throat and my eyes are filled with salty tears that won't stop dripping.

We will gain so much.

Our family of five will be whole again.

Yet we will lose so much as well.

The family we have built here-our neighbors, our friends, our lives over the last six and a half years.

We will be left with a gaping hole.

It will be bittersweet.

I am more than ready to be together again.

I don't know if I will ever be ready to say goodbye.

I don't write serious posts very often, but sometimes they do make me cry. I can see how this would make you. Change is always hard....I can tell by the words you chose how hard this is for you.

Saying good bye is incredibly difficult, even when you know that the reasons are for the better in the end. When I was getting ready for my cross-country move, I tried my best to just focus on enjoying the time I had left with everyone, rather than letting myself get sad at the thought of saying goodbye to them. It was definitely not easy, but I do cherish the memories I made with all of those people during those final days.

*exhaling* Wow...it's almost here. Having never moved from the city I was born in, I can't begin to imagine what you are feeling. I sense the anticipation, hesitation, anxiety, excitement, and sadness yet the importance of being together as a family comes across so strong in everything you write about.

Hang in there. Nothing worthwhile is ever easy. I'll be following your adventure. :)

Good luck. It will be hard, but it will be worth it.

Thanks..I feel like I've had more than my share of changes and uphill battles of late and am just ready for things to get a little easier.

Thanks for your thoughts. I am hoping I can manage to have some fun during these last 2 months of chaos.

You said it exactly right...anticipation, hesitation, anxiety, excitement and sadness all rolled in to one.

Thanks for the reminder that nothing worthwhile is easy.

I can definitely see how hard that is. We moved about three hours away from our "home" two years ago to be closer to my parents. It was really hard but its been such a blessing to be closer to my parents. It will be an adjustment for you, but Im positive it will all turn out for the best. Good luck!
