We got sucker punched by Life yet again at Casa de Loco and I've just been trying to breathe and keep it together. I know things could be much, much worse because I see those situations every single day in my job. But right now it feels like we are being bullied by Life and I don't know how much fight we have left in us. I saw a tweet yesterday "if you're going through hell just keep going." That is what I'm trying to do.
Reading and blogging keeps me sane and these are ones you SHOULD NOT MISS!
Kathleen wrote a beautiful and heart wrenching piece about going back and saying goodbye. The Long Way Home brought back such vivid memories of my own summer trips to visit family in upstate New York. One of my most favoritist (I know that's not a real word) writing communities, Yeah Write selected it as an Editor's Pick this week.
A Man Named Joe is a complex, vivid piece about memories and unanswered questions. Christie is another fantastic writer I discovered thanks to Erica and her amazing Yeah Write community.
Kim was there when I DESPERATELY needed a laugh this week. Here she fantasizes about owning a magazine. Here's hoping she does a cover model search contest because I am ALL OVER it.
What were your favorite reads of the week? I am desperate for funny and tales of overcoming when life gives you the beat down.

Thanks for the shout-out. I hope you get a break this weekend.
Robbie, You are always so kind and generous to recognize others posts through the week. I hope whatever that sucker punch was that it heals very quickly and you find yourself moving through that hell at top speed!
I'm so glad I could cheer you up on a bad week...I hope things get better real soon!
I'm sorry about the sucker punch but you are totally awesome for your Friday shout-outs and for just being you!
I'm with you. I'm so stressed that I am not sleeping and not sleeping just makes me more stressed. One thing that always makes me laugh though is @HonestToddler on Twitter. I have had to go to his specific page a few times this week to let the weight off of my shoulders go for a bit.
Oh, wow. I hope that everything gets better soon for you. I'll have to check out the links above.
I hate that you were sucker punched. You really do deserve a break and I hope you get it soon.
