My Quiet Place

Difficult to find

Blackness of night

Dark morning

They are sleeping soundly

Stillness

Solitude

Breathing deeply

Slowly exhaling

Silence

Alone at last

Hoping for a better tomorrow

Relieved to have made it through another day

or

Arming myself for the battles ahead

Allowing five more minutes before waking the chaos

Reaching for my laptop

Logging back in to life

This week we asked you to write about your quiet place. Where is it? What does it look like? What happens there? Our word limit was 200.

Excited to be participating for the first time.

Simple and true. Quiet moments are so rare, aren't they?

So simple, a quiet moment alone before the house wakes, but they are so hard to find some days.

Hooray, you! Welcome!

Your poetry is lovely and I adore the way you took your reader through unplugging and plugging back in in so few words. So, so very well done!

This was so well done. I liked the visual separation of words leading me to and from peace and quiet.
