A month or so ago I started Friday Fragments as a way to share some of my favorite reads of the week. It also gives me an excuse to share random thoughts and bits and pieces of life around here.
It's been a roller coaster of a week..in a different way than it was when we were living apart. I jacked up my back Saturday afternoon and was worthless for at least two days...not that I had anything in particular to do- but the fact that I couldn't made me cranky.
Summer isn't going at all as I hoped it would. We aren't meeting people. We're isolated, lonely, bored and on each other's nerves. Our garage looks like a moving truck threw up in it and yet we still lack some highly desired items such as the bunk bed mattress, my clothes, the kids bikes and outdoor toys and the list goes on. I know it will get better I just don't know when.
At least the internet provided a distraction and some magnificent reads this week. I hope you will check out some of my favorites!
Annie AKA Mama Dweeb is participating in a challenge to eat healthy on a food stamp budget. Apparently some people are speaking out against the challenge which is all the more reason you need to read Annie's post to find out WHY she is taking part.
f I need a good laugh and a dose of snark I track down Robyn in her hollow tree. She is freaking hilarious!! It's a Baby's Life For Me was inspired by one of Mama Kat's famous writing prompts.
Outlaw Mama had me at Where's Blue Baby? It's a tale of mystery, deceit and a much loved baby doll.
Lea of Becoming SuperMommy has convinced me I NEED to have another baby. Wonder if she can convince Big Yankee as well? I triple dog dare you to read Confession without catching baby fever.
I JUST found Kim this week through the sensational Yeah Write summer series grids. I'm a child of the 80s and wanted to be Molly Ringwald. In Isn't She? Kim captures the pink.
What were your favorite reads of the week?

I LOVE this idea! I'll have to think about what my favorite reads were. I'm going to check out yours in the meantime.
I love this idea because it really helps you find people you might otherwise have never known about!
I love that I get to see what reads stick with you. I think it lets me get to know you even better. I'll be sure to check them out during my downtime this weekend (I actually have some...YIPPEE).
My favorite read was by Making it Work Mom. It was a post about her youngest daughter's physical and how the doctor told her in front of her daughter that she was on the heavy side. What a world we live in!!
Wow, I'm honored - thank you so much for the shout out! I can't wait to check out the other picks on your list. And thanks again for making my weekend with smiles and some new bloggers to meet! :)
Thank you for the feature! Now I have some posts on here I want to go check out :)
Thanks so much for sharing my "Pretty In Pink" post! I'm glad that you stopped by, and I'm excited to read more about YOU too! Have a great weekend!
First, I am sorry you are having a tough go right now. I suck at reaching out to people myself (usually it's connections I made through work) and am pretty imtimidated at how to do this. Second, great read choices! I saw a couple of tweets on how great the Blue Baby read is- and I think I will avoid the baby fever one. I am cured for life- but you never know :)
I hope your summer gets better. I love this idea - I am off to do some reading!
