Behind Closed Doors

This week's Monday Listicles topic is Things in Your Closet. Of course I have a bunch of skeletons but that, my friends, is a post for another day. Please allow me to piss and moan a little about the fact that a large portion of my possessions are in a storage unit in Kansas. Don't ask.

1. Legos for StinkBug's birthday on Wednesday.

2. Office supplies
The bottom two built in shelves serve as my office aka where I shove crap I need for work. Since our rental house is quite small I have a mobile office which means I work on my bed, the kitchen table or the breakfast bar which also houses our computer and printer. Fortunately for me we spent Friday setting up our new office. I finally feel legit. We even have a whiteboard and a conference table. The only downside is that bras are no longer optional.

3. Slipper collection
I DESPISE being barefoot..or sans footwear of any kind. I don't even like to be sock footed. On any given day I might rock the leopard print ones in the morn, the hot pink ones after school and the sock monkey ones at bedtime.

4. Picture frames that I cannot commit to hanging since we are in a rental and I am hoping we buy our "forever home" in the next few months.

5. A very hot sleeveless black dress that I wore to Big Yankee's college graduation in the late 90s. I plan to fit into it again by our anniversary in July.

6. Birthday presents for a friend that I have yet to mail. Her birthday was in August. She is planning a visit in March so I might as well just deliver them in person.

7. My sassy hot pink Nikes..of which I have no image. Trust me they are fantabuloustic!

8. Christmas decorations that have nowhere else to go!

9. Empty space since most of my belongings live in a storage unit in the land of oz.

10. Boxes that have yet to be unpacked and are labeled "random stuff"....don't judge packing sucks.

Packing sure does suck! That mobile police unit is the one I have in my closet too! Except my boy build his and is looking for the bad guys behind my pretty shoes. How do you like your Nikes?

I wish I had a great slipper collection, too! That is one well-rounded closet you've got!

Happy Birthday, StinkBug! I, too, am jealous of your slipper collection. I'm sitting here with frozen feet. :)

Happy Birthday to StinkBug on Wednesday! :D

I have picture frames in my closet too...only they are empty. Always seems like a good idea at the time. *sigh*

Packing does suck. That's the main reason we're still in this house after 26 years. LOL Birdie and Evan gave each other Legos for Christmas. They are 24 years old. And they play with those things all the time. Some kids just never grow up---or Legos are way more fun than I thought. :) I love going barefooted! It's a requirement for living in the low-country. haha

My parents bought these for me & not sure where they got them but I've gotten some from Target in the past. What's not to love about legos and how is my BABY turning six?

Thanks and I agree!

Some women collect shoes--I collect slippers :)

Thanks! It's never too late to start a slipper collection.

Thanks and please tell me where the last six years went!

Oh yes...I have plenty of empty picture frames in my closet too! I just can't commit to certain pictures and THEN hang them up too!

I LOVE LEGOS! After helping StinkBug for hours and hours I want some of my own! I am allowed to sort legos but I can't play with them since "grownups don't play!"

Thanks...I've been going to the gym 3-5 X a week to get closer to that goal. :)

Happy Birthday!!! My kids play in my closet so I have to hide presents else where!

I am a huge fan of office supplies. I could spend all day in an Office Max or a Staples. And those are some pretty cute monkey slippers too.

Thanks for stopping by Seriously Kate!

I love those monkey slippers! I'm a fluffy sock fan myself but those could seriously tempt me to convert.

When I originally commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment.

Is there any way you can remove me from that service?
Thanks a lot!

Packing does suck! And I would never judge you because you have absolved me! I am AWFUL at mailing things to people on time. It's comforting to know I'm not alone. Ellen
