Twenty Four

It's that time of year again...NaBloPoMo where I get all crazy and attempt to post EVERY SINGLE DAY. Between work and kids and life and no time and writer's block I am struggling to post even once a week. Posting daily is an absurd idea but I am not going to let that stop me. Last year I managed twenty four posts- not bad considering we were traveling some of that time. Therefore twenty-four is my number to beat. With ninety one half-assed posts in my drafts folder this is an attainable goal.

This was our second Halloween living here and while it sucked a little less, it still sucked. When the ten year old came home frustrated and in tears because of the extreme lameness that is Halloween in this town it broke my heart more than a little. Next year we might be Halloweening in Hall-o-waii.

I first laughed at your comment about the lameness of Halloween here -- but then I read about your son and that made me so very sad. And you might be in Hawaii? As in living?

Come here next year! It's seriously not lame! Well maybe to an older kid..

I so hear you Robbie! I haven't been blogging much at all. I mean, like, for months! So, I'm maybe being overly ambitious to think I can post every day in Nov, especially knowing how hard it was last year. But we got this!!

91?! Wow. I only have umm, 7 in mine. And it's not likely one of them will come to fruition.

You'll make it this year. You made it to 24 last year so this year can only be better. =)

Nawww...we aren't moving to Hawaii I was just trying anything to cheer up y 10 year old. WE lived in such a fantastic neighborhood before this so our expectations are probably a little too high.

Sadly some of those 91 half assed posts are more like a few random sentences that must have made sense at one time...but I have no idea what they mean now :)

@Stacie-I figure anything is better than the barely once a week I've bene posting recently. We will rock it!

Halloween was lame around here as well. I'm not sure what was up with people! However, those that tried to go all out, went ALL out, so it sort of made up for it. Maybe next year...

Congrats on the 24! I started last year, but within a day or two I realized I just didn't have enough post ideas. This year I am going to give it a more earnest effort. Good luck.

That does suck for your son. My town has the population of 400 and we usually take my two girls through our town, then drive to their grandmother's subdivision where it's like a huge Halloween town. This year my best friend and I just took them through our one horse town, and they racked up on candy. Do they have trick or treat trails at stores in your area? Good thing most parents don't use the 'trick' part. :) Good luck on writing past 24 days. I've had writer's block, so not sure how well I'll do. I've never tried it before.

@Donetta you should give it a try! It's a fun way to get in the habit of writing daily.

Halloween was lame here too, so don't feel too bad. I'm thinking your idea of Hall-o-waii is spot on, and completely reasonable.
