Ten Things Thankful #3

1. I am thankful for an understanding boss when my son was sick on Wednesday. She was in town (which happens less than once a month) and I was suppose to meet with her. Instead I found myself at the Immediate Care Clinic with a sickly six year old. She told me not to worry about it since we can't control when kids get sick.

2. I am thankful for a chance to volunteer in StinkBug's first grade class every week. I did the craft for the Halloween party this week and loved every minute of the chaos.

3. I am thankful for a friend who took my kids to the park for a few hours on Friday as they were out of school and I still had to work.

4. I am thankful for the Radio Flyer Ziggle I received through Chatterbox. My kids LOVE it! It's a fun riding toy that gets them moving and outside.

5. I am thankful for my husband who put the Ziggle together.

6. I am thankful for the windy, rainy night as I love sleeping in storms.

7. I am thankful for a long weekend with my three children.

8. I am thankful that two of my three children fight over who gets to clean the toilet, wash the windows and mop the floors.

9. I am thankful for tolerance.

10. I am thankful for the bottle of wine my husband brought home this evening and an extra hour to drink it.

What are you thankful for this week?

I am a big fan of #10, and I'm thinking that having kids who fight over whose turn it is to do chores seems like an absolute miracle. Lucky you!

OK, I have my kiddos help with cleaning but I can't say I have EVER had them fight over it. Nice work, mama!

And yes, #10 is a nice way to end up the list and the week.

Have a fabulous day!

You had me at the extra hour and the bottle of wine.

Your boss also sounds great :)

Fight over? As in, they want to do the work? Not, "I had to do that last time! I want the easy job today!" ? I'm impressed!

I am so all over #10! My husband it my wine stocker! With the extra hour? I got up an hour earlier so I essentially gave it back...

I am thankful for tolerance, and a tolerant boss who can empathize. Pretty rare! Thanks for sharing!

Awww your boss sounds lovely. How nice of her to have that level of compassion and understanding for your situation. That's a good person to work for right there.

Glad you've got a long weekend to relax and enjoy being with your family. Hope it's everything you wanted :)

That Ziggle is very cool. I guess I'll have to consider signing up on Chatterbox after we move.

Beautiful list :) Sometimes the most incredible gifts are the simplest things.

Wow, that Ziggle looks wild!

I'm grateful for the indomitable (and adorable) Brownies in the Girl Scout troop I lead. And I'm grateful for the windy, warm weather we had late this week, which gave me a couple of more days of my kids running inside for dinner smelling sweaty and fresh and outdoorsy before the snow flies.

we had one of those rainy, windy nights…into day storms this week also…I love those! the key (for me) is that they are warm weather events, so it's usually 10 degrees warmer than normal and the wind is also fun to listen to at night and watch during the daylight hours.

Wow, kids who fight over chores.. What's your secret?? The toy really looks like a lot of fun. My kids have a lady bug on wheels and I always love watching them zip around on it.

Hope you had a great long weekend home!

2 out of 2 of my kids are like 1 out of 3 of yours....

The Ziggle looks like fun. And if it's by Radio Flyer, it will be indestructible.

I love sleeping during a storm. Well, a mild storm, that is. Rumbly thunder and rain is great for sleeping. Anything beyond that usually sends us to the basement.

Hi Robbie, it's lovely to feel thankful. I think it helps me too to write it down. Usually I write it in a gratitude journal, but it's lovely for me to read yours and so maybe on the blog would be nice for me too. :)

I need #8! How did you do that? I am thankful that Gia is finally healthy after a week of battling a virus. I am thankful for days that it isn't my turn to carpool. :)

My younger two have always fought over cleaning the toilet, windows and mopping. Maybe they were just born that way?
