Fall Love

When Stasha asked us to list Fall must haves I got a little nervous. I am very quick to think of things I DON'T like about fall (pumpkin flavored anything tops my list) but putting a positive spin on things is a bit more of a challenge. This is also our first fall in the land of potatoes and cheese and I am not quite sure what to expect.

1. My Award winning Chili

I won a chili contest once and I will NEVER let anyone forget it. I also LOST a chili contest which will never be forgotten and is a story that must be rehashed every SINGLE TIME the word chili is mentioned. I started to share but here but it became a blog post of it's own. You'll thank me now for stopping.

2. MY BIRTHDAY!!

I've always loved my birthday and September 23 is the kick-off to fall. And sock monkeys are always awesome.

3. Cool, windy nights
I love sleeping with the windows open and snuggling under
mountains of blankets.

4. Fleece pajama pants

I am hot. ALL. THE. TIME. But with the cooler weather I can at least sport my fleece pajama pants for a few hours before I put on my shorts and climb into bed.

5. Breathtaking views
Walks along the canyon where I enjoy this view (though it also scares the h#?! outta me).

6. Crunchy leaves

7. Pumpkin Patch Pilgrimages

8. Reese's peanut butter cups are THE best Halloween candy on the planet.

9. Hat wearing weather
Though I'm always hot my ears are often cold on my morning walks. It's no surprise that my favorite ear warmer is a sock monkey hat is it?

10. Pumpkin seeds
Toasted with garlic and plenty of other seasonings.

I am cooking chili on a windy night. How's that? I am sure my chili is not nearly as good as yours, I'm nowhere near any kind of good cooking, that's usually my husband's job. But I have a pretty good handle on the crockpot, so chili it is...

I sleep with the window open year round and love my flannel PJ's too! I for one am dying to hear your chili story. :)

We are kindred spirits - I don't like anything pumpkin flavored either. Not lattes, not pie, nada (but the seeds are fine). We might be the only ones in the world!

Thank goodness, I found someone else who can't stand pumpkin flavored anything! Yeah! I too cannot stand it.
Happy Fall,

I wish it was cool enough here to sleep with windows open year around. I will definitely be sharing my chili tale soon!

I think we are the only ones in the world!! I don't like pumpkin flavored or pumpkin smelling anything.

They are yummy aren't they? Do you season yours?

There are at least 3 of us anti-pumpkinites here :)

I must try sea salt on my seeds next time. I'd love to share my winning chili recipe but I don't really follow a recipe..as far as measurements go. I'll see if I can piece one together just for you though.

Love that cake! And I was thinking of making a list of things later this week of things I don't like about fall. You know, just to keep balanced. :)

My husband makes the best roasted pumpkin seeds. He uses all kinds of spices and the girls and I fight over them when he puts them out on the table.
As for you not liking anything pumpkin...I think of you every time I eat something pumpkin now. How funny is that?!

Things I dislike about fall is waaay longer and easier than things I love about fall. I've been thinking about doing the same thing.

haha..funny and flattering that you think of me when you eat pumpkin flavored stuff. My kids LOVE pumpkin pie.

What does your husband put on his pumpkin seeds? I am always looking for inspiration.
