10 Things at which I am Rubbish

I have been reading Stasha at NorthwestMommy for quite some time and I always enjoy Monday Listicles so today I am going to link up for the VERY FIRST TIME!

Here's my list of things at which I am rubbish

1. Keeping track of thing-I lose EVERYTHING on a daily basis. Important things like cell phones, house keys, garage door openers, debit cards, mail keys.

2. Following directions/reading maps-Back when he was just my boyfriend I went to visit Big Yankee in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I ended up near Joplin, Missouri. This was pre-cell phone era. What should have taken 3 hours took about 7. Another time I picked up my sister at the airport and we ended up in LA...when we should have been going to the desert. I have no sense of direction and get lost even where I live.

3.  Pop culture and trivia- You DO NOT want me on your Trivial Pursuit team. <<Are we still doing that?

4. Snapping- I have no talent when it comes to this skill. I have tried various finger/thumb combinations and a variety of techniques but I am incapable of snapping.

5. Making Pancakes- I lost at this too! For Big Yankees first Father's Day I "made pancakes". I would like to thank the pesky smoke alarm for ruining the surprise. They were black & crispy on the inside and gooey on the inside.

6. Cleaning my minivan- It is just soooo much easier to keep certain things in there until next time they're needed (Brownie Scout supplies) or in case they might be needed (water bottles, car snacks, books to read, dvds to watch).

7.Technology- I am lazy and it's more of a hassle and frustration than it is worth. It took my 9 yr old to do the Netflix thru the Wii console. I have basic computer skills..just don't ask me to do anything fancy!

8. Staying focused-I am wonderfully motivated to start new things but then I get bored and I start something else and then another and another.

9. Trying clothes on at the store-I Major SUCK at this! I would much rather buy 9 pair of black pants in a variety of sizes and styles and take them all home to try on and be forced to return the remaining 8 pair (because that's NOT a hassle at all) than to venture into a dressing room and try them on.

10. Singing outside of my minivan- It obviously has something to do with the acoustics because when I am cruising down the street in my Nissan Quest I sound like Def Leppard, Katy Perry, Miranda Lambert AND Aretha Franklin.

Oh yes, the dreaded trying on clothes. Who does that to themselves anyway? It is a recipe for therapy!!

Trying on clothes at the store is just one more way to ruin my shaky self esteem! Thanks for the Listicle opportunity ;)

We are very similar, eerily similar! :) You would feel right at home in my minivan and could subsist off the boxes of crackers I have in there for just in case...

We are the same way as far as focus goes! I can start so many projects but boy...many of them are unfinished, just waiting for me to come back to them!

I so agree about trying clothes on at the store!!! And clearly the acoustics in the car (and shower, for me) are simply better than the rest of the world ;)

I can't read maps either! And I do everything I can to avoid dressing rooms!

I feel like we're soul mates. I lose everything. Especially since I had kids. And my car is an utter disaster!

Ha ha ha! I love that everyone seems to ruin an "easy" dish.. Mines Hamburger Helper

I lose stuff too. I have to put things back in one spot or... they're gone. Sorry but the pancakes, hilarious. I can't do Kraft Dinner.
Great list.

What do you say we get together and get lost and then avoid the dressing rooms?

Robbie K said...

See I knew it wasn't just me car acoustics are waaay better! I am not brave enough to try out the acoustics in the shower.

Robbie K said...

It is pure torture.

Robbie K said...

I haven't ever attempted to make pancakes since that fateful day in 2002!

Robbie K said...

I like to feel like I have a lot going on so if I finish everything I will be bored...at least that's what I tell myself!

So glad to be eerily similar to someone so cool! I have to move shit into my trunk whenever I have an unexpected passenger!

Robbie K said...

I HATE it! I would rather return a bunch of stuff than try something on.

Robbie K said...

yeah!! WE can be twins!

Robbie K said...

It was definitely not edible!

Robbie K said...

I am so glad we're soul mates! Forgive me if I lose you! I should seriously take pic of the inside of my minivan but I might get reported to code enforcement....

Robbie K said...

I have to read the directions for Hamburger Helper too! But I really am a great cook..I just don't follow recipes or directions very well.

Kraft mac n cheese DISGUSTS me and I refuse to eat it but I did have to learn how to cook it..."it's for the children!"

The last one on singing cracks me up. I sound just like Adele(yes, the winner of all those Grammys) when I'm in the car. :)

I would love to hear your Adele voice on a road trip!
