Monday Listicles: Home Edition

It's Monday which means Monday Listicles with the fabulous Stasha. You should head over, link-up and find some great new reads.

This week's topic: Home

We arrived at our new home just before midnight on Friday. I drove by it in March but had never seen the inside and could barely remember the outside. To say it's been a wild ride would be an understatement. I don't have any memories yet and we are just getting settled so this is mostly physical characteristics.

1. Quiet neighborhood I don't have to listen to people revving their engines, blasting air horns, cranking Johnny Cash, or the HOA mowing at the butt-crack of dawn. Also no one parks in front of my house.

2.  Full of boxes Our house and garage are filled with them and yet many essential items (mattress, plates, silverware) are in a storage unit in Kansas.

3. Gigantic fenced back yard  We had a ginormous yard before but it was fence-less which I loved. StinkBug is totally psyched to have a FENCE and I can't help but share his enthusiasm.

4. Laundry room An entire room dedicated to cleaning and drying clothes and tons of storage. Our old house has a laundry area..bi-fold doors in the hallway to disguise the laundry closet. I never minded much until I recently discovered the extreme pleasure of an ENTIRE ROOM!

5. Less to clean Our old house was too big and this one is probably not quite big enough for the long term but for a year we'll make it work. And downsizing means less house for me to clean :)

6. Overflowing with love Having spent the past 18 months as a fractured family, we are beyond grateful to be together again and we remind each other of it constantly.

7. Temporary It's a rental and while I was VERY pleasantly surprised when I first laid eyes on it 3 days ago we hope to buy a house within a year or two.

8. Fun We breed sarcasm and smart assery. We laugh often. Farts, burps, and all bodily functions are hysterical.

9. New adventures  We've moved 1231 miles away from our last home. This is only the 3rd time the kids and I have been here. We are ready to explore!

10. TOGETHER AGAIN After 18 months of living apart my family is all under one roof again.

Sounds fantastic! I love how Stinkbug is psyched about a "fence" and the excitement you have for an entire "laundry room". FYI, I'd feel the same way about the laundry room! :D

The best part like you said...you're all under one roof again!

Three days...wow. Good luck! Less to clean is great, laundry room makes me swoon, and your kind of fun is my kind of fun!

Stinkbug was disappointed about the lack of a kitchen island and said "why would anyone put carpet in the dining room?" so I'm embracing the fence love!

Together again is the ultimate gift.

i have to embrace my inner 12 year old boy...stinky, loud farts are the best.

Great list - love it.
We laugh about bodily functions here a lot as well and there is an abundance of them...
My favourite one on your list is "new adventures" - how exciting!
