Thanks to Shell's Pour Your Heart Out link up I landed on The Montana Dailey News and read Wendy's touching post about singing for her Grandma. It brought a smile to my face as I remembered my grandmas.
Jay gives a comical list of characteristics of a stay at home dad. He had me at jump the shark and he should accept complete responsibility for the coke I spit out while reading.
Cindy shared a terrifying, heart stopping experience in Do the Right Thing. Of course, no one can really know how they will respond when faced with such a shocking situation but it really got me thinking.
Jessica writes from her heart with honesty, openness and sincerity. Whisper is the most beautiful birthday tribute to her amazing daughter and their journey. I'm sending Ashlynn a virtual cookbook since we both like to read them!
Melissa's beautiful, brilliant words took me back in time with my babies. I read A Quick Like Plan with a lump in my throat and tears streaming down my face.
What were your favorite reads this week? Why not pay it forward and leave me a link-or two or three of your favorite posts? What was it that made those posts stand out?
In other news, my kids are leaving for a week with the grandparents on Saturday. This has NEVER EVER happened before. I'm equal parts nervous and excited. If I publish ten posts a day you'll know why.

Just wipe that spilled Coke up with your shirt. Everyone will think the stain is from your kids :)
Thanks, Robbie!
It's such a nice idea to highlight specific posts Robbie! I'm new to your blog but it looks like you do this frequently (or at least 4 other times...).
Unfortunately, my short term memory decided to take a vacation after the 27 yeah write posts I read (including Melisa's which was wonderful).
I will keep a list (yes, another excuse for a list!) for next time or come back today if I have a sudden recall.
In the meantime, I want to laugh hard enough to spit out my coke too. After that, I'll be ready to check out the others!
Woohoo! A week alone in the house while Big Yankee is at work!!! Didn't you just comment a couple days ago about how your idea solo vacation would be in your own house on Christine's blog?! Look at you!! This is awesome!!
I so look forward to your Friday posts so I can check out new blogs. One of my favorite reads this week was from one of my favorite bloggers Kimberly at Mama's Monologues. She hit the nail on the head with how I have been feeling lately. http://www.mamasmonologues.com/2012/07/setting-her-free/
Thanks for the tip...and for making me laugh this week.
Thanks..I just started sharing my fave reads a few weeks ago. Figure ppl that like reading me might also like what I like to read. ;) Did that make any sense? I LOVE LOVE yeah write. I read them ALL every week whether I link up or not.
Yes I did. You have an excellent memory. I am fantasizing about my staycation sans children.
Thanks for sharing that. She is one of my all time fave blogs too but I missed that post. I love her writing style and her openness.
I love finding new blogs to read! A week without kids?! That's amazing! I wouldn't know what to do with myself!
I see the comments above about my post and my heart just swelled. You two are so very sweet. Thank you!
I love finding new blogs too and you are one of my all time favorites. I honestly don't know what I will do with a week to myself as I've never been without my for more than a day or two.
